About Mac Proxies
Macintosh computers can use proxies to tunnel through for numerious
reasons, the much more important reason is for privacy. Each person
on the Internet has an IP address, this is a virtual address to your
computer. Picture it as the address to your house, with this people
can find you and knock on your door.
Why would I need a proxy? I'm not doing anything illegal. Why do
people own PO Boxes or block their caller ID? For privacy, and with
the amount of scumware and logs kept on the Internet you never know
who has access to your IP. Just as someone can knock on your door,
they can knock on your computer to try to hack it. |
